Rolando is a Jamaican-born technologist, speaker, and founder of Compassionate Reprieve and VUERZ — a streaming technology company behind multiple platforms designed to preserve connection and dignity during moments of loss. With upcoming expansions like FrontRoh and other streaming apps, Rolando continues to push boundaries in how technology can serve the emotionally disconnected.
With over 25 years of experience in technology and a Master’s degree in Information Technology, Rolando brings deep technical expertise and lived compassion to some of society’s most overlooked spaces. As a leading voice in the emerging field of DeathTech, he designs trauma-informed, scalable solutions including virtual funeral streaming, grief-access protocols, and AI-powered tools that center dignity in carceral and justice environments.
Through Compassionate Reprieve, the only Black-founded nonprofit in the United States focused solely on grief and loss in corrections, Rolando champions healing justice, digital equity, and systems transformation. Through VUERZ, his for-profit streaming venture, he is expanding secure funeral and legacy access across correctional facilities, care institutions, and underserved communities in the U.S., the Caribbean, and worldwide.
